This past month, the Venus Flytraps had many special visitors. The Venus Flytraps welcomed family visitors to favorite books to the them. They enjoyed the different stories that were read aloud. Another visitor the Venus Flytraps welcomed was Brett the Vet. Brett the Vet explained what a veterinarian is, an animal doctor. He helps keep the animals healthy. Brett the Vet brought in shoe and hair covers that a doctor would wear when seeing an animal patient. He also brought in a stethoscope for all the Venus Flytraps to listen to their hearts. The Venus Flytraps enjoyed learning about veterinarians! Gabby, from Art Farm, also visited the Venus Flytraps. During this visit, Gabby taught them about different kinds of birds. They learned that birds are animals that have bones, wings, feathers, and lay eggs. As always, the Venus Flytraps were excited to meet the animals and get the chance to pet a dove, chicken, and parrot. They look forward to having more visitors throughout the year! The Venus Flytraps hosted their family members for the annual Gillen Brewer Thanksgiving Feast. During the celebration, the Venus Flytraps and their families enjoyed a delicious spread of food and shared their favorite balloons and floats. After reading the book Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet, the Venus Flytraps decorated their favorite balloons or floats from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Venus Flytraps had fun sharing this special celebration with their families and teachers. Happy Thanksgiving! |
